Quality

This box comes with a halfton of skin layer hoods, a latex catsuit, mittens, posture collar and "Isolation panels" that have two gags and a blindfold built in. All of them are very well detailed. The mittens are the hand sack style, just two bags over the hand and buckled in place so the finegrs scratch uselessly at the material. The gag has a panel style, and a breather gag style (more on this in function). Breather has a pump added, otherwise no changes.

I love the catsuit you get with it though. Since I bought this gear nearly 2 years ago now, its been one of my most used outfits. Shiny in the right places, very well designed and generally looks great.

The skin layer hoods use a similar style, but the ones that cover mouth suffer from the same issue as all Skin/Tattoo layer hoods, the lips seem just too clear. I'm all for tight hoods that you can see an impression of the lips through, but this just does noy look right. Thankfully when gagged you can't see them, and to be honest they do look better with the gag active. All the more reason to keep your sub quiet.

I (as usual) recomend using an alpha to hide your hands as opposed to resizing the mittens, far easier and better solution.

They can have their textures changed by saying paneltex, mittentex or collartex in open chat. I had an issue where only the left mitten changed colour however.

There is also a rubber labia and prim nipples in the box.


 Function
 
Starting with the Isolation Panels. You lock them merely by clicking the wearers face. Inside are 3 options. Gag, breathgag and unblindfold. The gag requries you to manually use a channel, else all messages come out as "...". The blindfold of course has a hud that it sends you should you have your eyes covered, but it seems ot only send once per blinding, so if refused, you don;t get spammed by it constantly.

The breath gag has its own quirk. When inflated, you will periodically be required to put a code into a specific channel (a window pops upt o tell you as opposed to a chat message). If you miss it, you faint.

The posture collar does nothing specific, no menus bar collartex, it just holds your head up.

The mittens seem to carry a little bit. Owners, poses and two binding options. The binding positions are simple enough, lock front and lock back. It comes with kneel and nadu built into it for psoes, but you can drop others in. They can then be used via chat commands.

Ultimately this restraint show its age with far too many chat commands and not enough buttons.

Scores

Quality - I can;t fault it much, it looks really good, especially for such an old item now - 9/10
Function - it does do a fair bit, but its quite clunky and needs some optimizing/updating - 6/10
Price - 680 linden. Most outfits of this quality cost more, so thats a plus, especially when combined with decent restraints - 8/10

Amelie Barbour - Mesh Monosleeve

Another mesh product from Amelie Barbour and I think the first mesh armbinder style product.


Quality

Its pretty nice. Shiny, plenty of colours.. Not overly tight on my avatar, but thats a known issue and apparently is in the process of been fixed. It has alot of options for recolouring, extra straps that can be added, and a collar as well for more security. It all looks good. It also has a tightness adjuster, but that can lead to some.. Odd results.

It also has an a built in AO that occasionally makes you flex your arms against it, quite nice. I added a pic of it mid flex.

Function

Like all of her mesh toys, it has a simple lock system. Anyone or Single Key. If you use single key you can lock and unlock yourself safely, on Anyone? You need help to get out.

The options when a mode is chosen are simple. Lace up locks it on. When you go into the locked menu you get Free and Don't free. Free does the obvious and unlaces it, Don't Free sends a message in local about how the captive Is not getting free this time.

Otherwise there is Appearance and Tightness. Appearance also lets you save and load styles that you like, which is always nice. When not laced up there is also Leave Be, which just closes the menu.

On the lack of timer. I spoke with Amelie and it looks like there are plans to add timers to her gear in the works.. Which means I'll need to revise my reviews to be up-to-date.

So, instyead of complaining abotu lack of timer as usual, instead I'll complain abotu lack of a hide option! Much easier to effectively RP kidnap if you can wear hidden toys.

Scores

Quality - It looks pretty nice, not overly tight on me, but would fit the more usual SL shapes easily. - 8/10
Function - As usual her gear doesn;t have many options, but it does what it does well. Addition of a timer will help a lot. - 7/10
Price - 795. Perhaps a tad high for a lot of budgets - 6/10

Doll Life - Mummy Stand

 So! A new comer to the blog for me to review about. Another one I found via the little store of kink, great little place.

Quality

I have to say, I really like the textures this uses. The latex looks great, and the straps are nice, tight and well detailed. It is of course very shiny, which is always a plus. It is however a pain to fit, so I just use a bodyless alpha (Theres plenty of free ones on the marketplace, or feel free to prod me in world and I can send you some.)

The hood is optional. While I do like the skintight design, I kinda wish it had nostril holes instead of a breathing tube through the mouth, but thats personal preferance.

This thing has a half ton of colours, it would take ages to list them all. Lets just say you get a menu that lets you choose straps or body, Under body there are more menus for differant colours, then each one of those has a sub menu for more precise colouring. Only way it could be better is if it used a hud. The straps have less options, but still more than enough.

Function

Its.. Well the RLV menu is jam packed, having a total of 19 options for restricting the vicitm, ranging from basic stuff like touching, to the more annoying IM blocker. It has every restriction you could need really.

It has a bult in blindfold, which in my opinion should be part of the hood. Its wierd that we can't see if we don't have it on after all. It can also force mouselook.

Most importantly? It has a timer! I swear, I cannot understand why every restraint out there does not have one of these. Said timer has an anti-AFK setting as well, if you want to make absolutely sure they are there the whole duration of their helplessness.

When unlocked you can access the Settings menu. You can update from here, adjust the colouring and add or remove owners.

What it lacks is an expose option. A friend and I where testing it, and she couldn't access it at all unless I added her as an owner.

Scores

Quality - I really like this thing, the latex textures just come out so well, at least on my graphical settings. Hoods a nice addition as well. Needs an alpha or two in the box - 9/10
Function - Its good. It has a lot in it, but it needs expose or public. - 7/10
Price - 500 linden. Can't complain much - 7/10

I was gonna review, but then I took an arrow to the knee..

Or more accurately, it turns out that people like me who use high shien on egar due to lighting and shaodws making it look like.. Well great. In previosu releases, hgih end settings using lighting and shadows and some well placed lights came out very well. WIth shadows off, it came out metallic as hell.

Now? in the latest firestorm, it keeps the metallic look with lighting and shaodws on, and just applies the shine on top of it, at least for me. As such, I am less than pleased, and couldnt; get any good screenshtos of the planned restraint tonight.

As soon as I figure out a workaround, I'll get the planned restraitn reviewed. Until then? I'll review non-shiny mesh gear.

heres a screenshot to show what it used ot look like, pre-firestorm 3.3. The left pic is withotu shadows, right with. Left pic is now also how it looks with shadows, just a little shinier. Obviosuly I was not reviewing the KaS corset dress, as its nto a restraint, but these images are a good example.

The T&T Obedience Belt

Oh look, I am reviewing it. Had a long talk with the devices creator in world, and she kindly has lent me a copy to review. Complete with latex pack of course.

Quality

The default look is pretty good, but wil need resizing for most shapes. For more unusual builds, they also offer an exchange service to better fit your shape. There are plenty of extra texture packs, though they cost 100 linden each for those that want them.

I have the latex pack installed in mine, and while its nice and shiny.. I admit it doesn't always look like latex to me, but more like shiny coloured metal. Not bad by any means, but not exactly what I hoped for.

The belt has plenty of little accesories. A wireless access point (router) on the back, some chains, and the keyhole of course, which turns green when the key is in the lock and waiting to be taken.

Function

Straight up I will say this, there are some buttons in this thing that, without the extras you buy that work through the belt, do nothing. Things such as Tie Me require plugins my belt doesn't seem to have yet.

Anyway, moving on to what the base belt DOES have.

This thing has 5 seperate leash points, each one of which has its own leash, so yes, you can anchor a sub to 5 differant rings/posts and effectively make it impossible for her ot move from the spot. It also has a leash handle that can be given out, adjustable length of course and a Quick Leash option to throw one of them up on a leash post.

It comes with pretty much all the expected RLV restriction. Touch, chat, eidt, etc with some added unexpcted ones such as setting the daylight of your subs viewer. As usual I strongly encourage people not to take IM away. The clothing has a seperate menu for allowing/denying the various clothing types.

Belt toys.. For various reasons I won't put any pics of this stuff up, or go into too much detail. Theres the expected things, as well as an option to add a ring to a certain somewhere.. As well as inflatables when the chaste is on, or a shock. When its off you can add things such as hooks, or chains.

There is of course force sit, a couple of pages of anims, appearance adjusting and RLV folder access.

Owners are done in an interesting fashion. You can add sec owners via a menu as always, put full owners need to be added by editing the belt, going to contents, going into the settings NC and adding the name to the Owners= line.

The options menu allows you to do a few more things, such as restrict access to certain menus when the belt is locked, or nab a remote to control the belt from afar. You can setup a backup, re-intialize the belt and turn on an AO as well if you have one built in.

Now maybe my favortie menu. Limits. This belt has a built in limit system, so if something within it is something you really dislike, you can stop people accessing it by going into this menu and turning its functionality off. So of course I use it to stop IM restriction.

All in all, its a chastity belt with options you'd expect more from a collar instead.

I skipped a couple of menus there, specifcally Tie Me and Attached, mostly because they don't work for me at this moment in time due to lack of plugins.

Scores

Quality - It doesn't look bad by any means, but it lacks.. Something - 6/10
Funciton - The normal belt is a collar with some extras, plenty there and Limits is great - 8/10
Price - 1200 linden.. I can't rate that too highly, I'm sorry, its just a tad on the high side. - 5/10

Ashpodele Tape Gag and Latex Blindfold

A double review tonight, covering a couple of Ashpodeles toys.

Tape gag V2

Quality

To be exact, there are two tape gags, but they function identically and as such the one review is all it need. The top pic of this post is V1, the next one down is V2

Of the two, I prefer V2s style. It just looks so much better to my eye. Regardless, both are shiny, have a fair few colour options as well. Tape wise, the V2 is probably my favorite after Kidnappeds wrapped tape gag in appearance.



Function

It can be set to have owners Under A) Primary, B) Secondary and C) Group. When you hit group, your current group is selected and anyone in it can access your gag at anytime. Handy for when you want to have it on, but only let specific people in.

It can be exposed or protected from the public, "locked" and has a give key option, (how do you lock tape? And where does the key go..?) It has the ever useful timelock that every restraint should have really. Theres a load of RLV stuff under the Options menu, as wlel as Penalty, which adds time to the lock if you cheat under the timelock while not in RLV.

Moan is a handy option. It adjusts what channel you have to use outside of RLV, as wlel as how severe the garbling is and the label it gives out (I,E my label is set to Aria, so when I say something in chat, it comes out as Aria for the object name) and lastly there is there is a sound that will adjust how often the gag makes a noise depending on whether its touched or the sub speaks.

Latex Blindfold


Quality

Interestingly enough, despite been called a latex blindfold, it has a setting that lets you making it a Scarf instead,quite a nice addition. It has a load of built in colours for good measure as well. Overall however, I'd say it looks kinda like silk or the like rather than latex.

It looks really quite nice, snug against the face, not overly shiny unfortunatly. Not much more to say, it can be a little bit of a pain to get snug against the face without eyelashes clipping through it unless set to black however.

Function

First of course you can lock it, expose it, etc. Once inside you can hit blind to adjust how much the blindfold restricts your vision (Hit HUD in the submenu) Only 4 RLV restrictions, Map, World map, Location and Names. The timelock is there. It does what a blindfold in SL needs to, but not anything more.

Gag
Quality - The V1 looks kinda odd to me, the V2 looks great. V1 - 6/10, V2 - 8/10
Function -  It does a fair little bit, not overly much ,but wxcellent good for its price - 8/10
Price - 100 linden, thats dirt cheap - 9/10

Blindfold
Quality - I like it, but it just doesn't look latexy to me - 7/10
Function - It does everything a blindfold needs to, again for a small price tag - 8/10
Price - 100 again, very nice - 9/10

Maison Broceliande Straitjacket

Another new store, an older one this time that cater mostly to the Ponygirls out there.

Quality

This thing is a unique SJ in SL as far as I know, been quite short, open breasted and made of leather. All in all the textures are done well, the bguckles and straps look good and the mittens used to cover the hands are well designed. Like most pre-V2 gear, it sadly lacks an alpha in the box, so you rather need another hands alpha or to make the mtitens bigger quite often.

My primary complaint about this restraint is the lack of a resizer, so you best be prepared to spend a lot of time resizing and moving the prims around if it doesn't fit out of the box.

Most of the gear from MB is primarily designed around Ponyplay, I think this style of jacket is often used in said play, but its fun for those of us that don't prnace around or neigh as well.

Function

It of course locks, and has 2 positons. A normal cross armed in front one, and a reverse prayer postion of sorts. All controls are done by rather clicking the left mitten or using chat commands. The owner has access to a few commands the sub doesn't, such as Secowners and forcing them into poses. They also can force a mouselook and no touch hud onto the sub, and a Stay command that stops your sub moving.

The sub itself can lock the jacket, bind themselves, set the owner, etc.

The major downfall here? No timelock. Why do so many toys lack them?
